More likely to come over the next couple of days but let’s just say that there’s been some significant movement on the progress-o-meter to get the shop open.
Some events that will be happening over the next month -
St Andrews University Gaming Convention is Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th of March.
Worldwide Dungeons & Dragons Day is Saturday the 21st of March. Because the shop won’t actually be open by that date this event will be hosted at an alternate venue in Kirkcaldy. I should also point out that the event will likely NOT take place on the 21st of March but will instead take place on Sunday the 22nd of March.
Next event that’s being planned is for the Universal Fighting System Collectable Card Game.
This is a 2 stage event with the first happening in the evening on Friday the 27th of March and the second happening on Friday the 3rd of April. Actual times and locations to be confirmed (currently negotiating those) but this is a promotional event to introduce new and current players of other CCGs/TCGs such as Magic: The Gathering, World of Warcraft and Yu-Gi-Oh to the game. There will be a lot of freebies going for this event.
The game gives players the chance to play as characters from various video games such as Street Fighter and Soul Calibur with a Tekken set due out later.
Scotland’s largest gaming convention will be held in Edinburgh on the 28/29th of March. Conpulsion offers a wide selection of gaming goodness. More information on the Conpulsion website.
More soon!
No review of the Hi-Ex comic convention here because frankly there are better reviews out there - here and here.
All I will say is that I had a great weekend, bought some stuff and chatted with some excellent people about my plans. Thanks go to Vicky and Rich for doing a great job of organising the convention.
With the upcoming conventions in St Andrews on the 14/15th March and in Edinburgh on the 28/29th March I’ve been firming up stock to sell.
Other than the obvious stock of Games Workshop, Magic The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons and other flagship products I’m also going to be selling some other ranges.

So, pleasant holiday season for everyone? I miss anything?
So we’re officially in recession now. Definitely looks like retail is taking a chunk of that pain with businesses such as Woolworths disappearing from our high streets. Would they still be trading if we weren’t in a recession? Is that even relevant? I don’t know but this isn’t a retail market analysis blog so we’re not going to cover that
Have had a variety of discussions on the timing of the shop recently, nothing concluded as yet but as I suggested in my previous post the likelihood of the shop opening in March is fading on a daily basis. Continue reading ‘Saga’
