Warhammer Fantasy Doubles Tournament

Warhammer Fantasy Doubles Tournament

We're planning on having a Warhammer Fantasy Doubles Tournament in March/April. There will be a 40K one later in the year.

Obviously there are date issues with a number of other tournaments going on around that time so I'm looking for some input into it.

We plan on using the 1500 Army (2 Forces of 750 Points) model as used at the Warhammer Doubles Tournament at Warhammer World and to use some of the other rules in that.

The event will be either be Saturday all day (10AM to 10PM) or a 2 day thing. I'm expecting it to be the former.

Dates I'm looking at are Saturday 27th February, Saturday the 13th March or the 27th March.

Are any of you interested in taking part? If so which date would be best?

I'm looking to get this confirmed in the next 2-3 weeks so if you can let me know asap I'd appreciate it.

Pairings wise I'm undecided, either randomised or players could opt for teams.

Did you realise 27th march is the date of Conpulsion? I might be interested in a tournament at another date now I am having another crack at WHFB - if can find a partner general and get in a little refresher practice. Anyone want to team up with an Empire army?

If Beasts or Vampire could then i would. Unfortunately I don't have any good armies that would be able to side by side with you Copperjacket.

If you want a few practice games though give me a shout Always up for WHFB.

I am aware that it clashes with Conpulsion, Richard. It's also the date of the Inverness Comic Convention - Hi-Ex - which I will be attending.

Any other feedback on the Tournament and Dates would be good.

I'm now thinking the 3rd of April would be best. It wouldn't clash with anything and if anyone is planning on going to Conflict Scotland in Glasgow on the 18th April it would give them an opportunity to try out their lists.

The pairings don't have to stick to the Trusted etc etc format. Yes it breaks the lore a bit but this would avoid anyone having to miss out due to those rules. That doesn't mean that people can't work with those rules of course!

I will get a final breakdown of the rules posted soon.

Let me know if the 3rd of April works for you. If not then it might not be possible to do this before the Summer due to other commitments.

Hmm.. 3rd is my birthday so everybody would have to be nice to me, hmmm might be tempted to give this a go, now can I get an Army built and painted before then, oh yeah and maybe get some games in so I at least can understand the rules as my next game of Fantasy will be my first!

Tempted by fantasy yes as I am just building 2 trolls for the Basic Impetus Fantasy Orc army I am about to undercoat.

Tempted by WFB? No, as I am disillusioned with all things GW at present including WAB.

By the way your router is gathering dust here, so give me a shout and we can arrange to meet up at some point.

Any more info on this Boss? Will you just be using the GW WHFB rules pack or tailoring it to suit yourselves?

I think that Dave is going with the Conflict scotland rules... Might change though.

Looking for a partner for this going to take Orcs and Goblins. I can pair with the following:

Skaven - Trusted
Warriors of Chaos - Trusted
Vampire Counts - Distrustful
Dark Elves - Distrustful
Daemons of Chaos - Distrustful
Beastmen - Distrusful
Orcs and Goblins - Battle Brothers

If anyone wants to pair up with me let me know. First come first served and I am looking to theme my army around whomever I am playing with. (i.e. Chaos Orcs with Warriors, Undead orcs with Vamps etc...)

I want to play for fun(But those that know me, know that I am competetive as well so fun=winning!)
