Advice

Hi guys. I am about getting to the point of basing my first few miniatures and was looking for some colour advice. I am going to be using Some of the Gale Force Nine basing grit (Just called "Basing Grit: Medium" on the bottom) and was looking for a good citadel colour to paint the bases to match.

OK, how about Calthan Brown (from the Foundation range) or Bestial Brown? They would probably go well with the basing grit. (I stopped painting bases green years ago)

Thanks Richard, I will give the Bestial Brown a try as I have it here. May end up heading in to Kirkcaldy for more paints to today yet lol.

I've always been a fan of Graveyard Earth for the rims of bases, you might want to try that. It's a really natural one and tends to go with most colours of grit you find. Scorched Brown would also work if you want a bit more of a contrast.

This is a bit of an intense way to base but heres what I do

Basecoat Dark Flesh
Overbrush Snakebite leather
Drybrush Snakebite leather/Skull White (50/50 mix)
Drybrush Skull White (really lightly
Paint rims with Graveyard Earth
Flock with grass/snow as desired
